In brief
The courses offered by the Department of Automotive Engineering are conducted in collaboration with TATA Motors Passenger Vehicle Ltd and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), an umbrella organization of more than 15,000 automobile dealerships across India, which is committed to supporting the placements and placement of students.

Goals
- To create a nationally and internationally accepted standard for training
- To provide a high-quality degree that is also internationally recognized
- Train a highly qualified workforce for the automotive sector
- Establishing and maintaining a network of teachers and trainers in the automotive sector
- Development of the faculty into a competence center in the automotive sector
Duration and admission criteria
- 6 months at BSDU
- 6 months in the industry
- 10+2 in any subject area or
- 2 years ITI after the 10th grade or
- Holders of a polytechnic diploma are entitled to lateral entry admission

- The faculty has the latest machines from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, etc. and well-equipped laboratories:
- Mechatronics laboratory
- Paint shop
- Body shop
- Vehicle diagnostics laboratory
- EV lab
- Workshop for the maintenance of automobile wheels
- Laboratory for automotive drives
- Aggregate laboratory
- In addition, BSDU has a special “Hero Excellence Center” set up by Hero MotoCorp so that students can gain hands-on experience with Hero two-wheelers.

Infrastructure and equipment for car mechanics
The training workshop has high-end equipment from the world’s best workshop suppliers. This includes, for example, John Bean for wheel care, diagnostic tools from Bosch and bodywork equipment from suppliers who supply workshops for brands such as Mercedes, BMW and Audi. All classrooms are equipped with training aids to enable efficient learning. For example, these learning rooms consist of separate areas and various working models of all vehicle systems.
