In brief

The Faculty of Plant and Apparatus Engineering offers a range of qualified courses relating to the manufacture and processing of metal parts for component production. These are integrated with science and technology. As part of this industrial vocational training under the supervision of Swiss trainers, graduates are trained to the highest quality level.

In India, growth in the metal processing and manufacturing sectors is driving infrastructure development and the rise of automotive production. The country has an advantage due to low production and labor costs. In this fast growing manufacturing sector, the demand for skilled professionals is increasing. The Faculty of Plant and Apparatus Engineering offers students comprehensive training in various areas of metalworking. This includes sheet metal processing together with various high-end joining and welding techniques. The curriculum also includes forming processes such as rolling, bending, forging and deep drawing. The core element of the training is the production and welding of various steel and aluminum alloys for different constructions.

Goals

  • Trained specialists who meet the standards of the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) levels and are employed as specialists in the companies.
  • pass certification tests officially conducted by the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) and the American Welding Society (AWS).
  • In-depth training in the areas of quality control, sheet metal processing, welding, material selection and production control
  • Carry out production and repairs
  • Qualification to apply all basic principles, theories and safety procedures that comply with current welding industry standards.
  • Students can apply all principles and characteristics of professional work ethics in the taught work environment.
  • Be able to participate in company growth and continuous improvement.
  • Trained plant and equipment engineers have the ability to set up their own sustainable company.

Semester

  • 1./3. and 5th semester full-time training at the BSDU (80% practice, 20% theory)
  • 2nd/4th and 6th semester in industry (company scholarships are possible)

Degrees

  • Certificate (6 months)
  • Diploma (12 months)
  • Advanced diploma (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s degree in vocational training (36 months)

Entry and exit possible after each semester

Infrastructure and equipment

The Faculty of Plant and Apparatus Engineering has a wide range of welding and cutting equipment to carry out all types of welding work depending on the type of production. The availability of such a wide range of equipment ensures that all welding requirements are met. The welding equipment available in the faculty can be used for training and demonstrations on the manufacture of special equipment for ultra-high vacuum (UHV), steam, cryogenics, automotive and others.
