With the gro\u00adwing inte\u00adrest in dual and hands-on approa\u00adches, the key ques\u00adti\u00adon is: does app\u00adren\u00adti\u00adce\u00adship help redu\u00adce the skills gap? <em><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/opinion\/et-commentary\/indias-demographic-dividend-at-risk-as-jobs-skills-gap-persist\/articleshow\/130646608.cms\">skills gap<\/a><\/em> and does this qua\u00adli\u00adty remain sta\u00adble under dif\u00adfe\u00adrent con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons? <\/p>\n\n<p>As part of the India\u00adSkills Com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon 2025\u20132026, the <em>Dua\u00adlEdu Bridge India pro\u00adject<\/em> achie\u00adved the fol\u00adlo\u00adwing results at natio\u00adnal level:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gold<\/strong> in ICT Net\u00adwork &amp; Infra\u00adstruc\u00adtu\u00adre<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sil\u00adver<\/strong> in Auto\u00adbo\u00addy Repair<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bron\u00adze<\/strong> in Rene\u00adwa\u00adble Ener\u00adgy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/joshi-foundation.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/MG_7620-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Bhartiya Skill Development University student concentrates on working with a cordless screwdriver and performs a precise assembly task under real training conditions.\" class=\"wp-image-2681\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Focu\u00adsed work on spe\u00adci\u00adfic work\u00adpie\u00adces shows how com\u00adpe\u00adtence is deve\u00adlo\u00adped through appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon and pre\u00adcis\u00adi\u00adon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>Across all com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon levels \u2014 from regio\u00adnal and sta\u00adte level to natio\u00adnal level \u2014 the <a href=\"https:\/\/ruj-bsdu.in\/\">Bhar\u00adti\u00adya Skill Deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty <\/a>achie\u00adved a total of 44 medals. The\u00adse results show that the skills deve\u00adlo\u00adped are not just sel\u00adec\u00adti\u00adve, but can be appli\u00aded under com\u00adpa\u00adra\u00adble con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons. This makes trai\u00adning qua\u00adli\u00adty visi\u00adble and veri\u00adfia\u00adble.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This also shows whe\u00adther trai\u00adning actual\u00adly con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtes to redu\u00adcing the <em>skills gap <\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>An edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon sys\u00adtem only beco\u00admes sus\u00adtainable when tho\u00adse who later work with the results share respon\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty. (Rolf Sie\u00adbold)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 id=\"reliable-scaling\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reliable scaling<\/h2>\n\n<p>The over\u00adar\u00adching goal is sus\u00adtainable employa\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty in the sen\u00adse of <em>Vik\u00adsit Bha\u00adrat 2047<\/em>. The available results show that the approach works. Howe\u00adver, the decisi\u00adve fac\u00adtor is whe\u00adther this qua\u00adli\u00adty can be main\u00adtai\u00adned even as the num\u00adber of par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpan\u00adts increa\u00adses.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This is not about expan\u00adding pro\u00adgrams, but about the abili\u00adty to relia\u00adbly repro\u00addu\u00adce trai\u00adning per\u00adfor\u00admance. Only then can trai\u00adning sys\u00adte\u00adma\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly redu\u00adce the <em>skills gap <\/em>rather than sel\u00adec\u00adtively address it. This requi\u00adres tasks that are geared towards real indus\u00adtry requi\u00adre\u00adments, cle\u00adar\u00adly defi\u00adned per\u00adfor\u00admance requi\u00adre\u00adments and an assess\u00adment that is based on the results achie\u00adved.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Ori\u00aden\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon towards indus\u00adtri\u00adal work pro\u00adces\u00adses is cen\u00adtral to this, as it deter\u00admi\u00adnes what is con\u00adside\u00adred per\u00adfor\u00admance. Within this frame\u00adwork, edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon spe\u00adcia\u00adlists from the <a href=\"https:\/\/joshi-foundation.ch\/en\/about-us\/team\/\">Rajen\u00addra and Ursu\u00adla Joshi Foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon JCF<\/a> are working tog\u00ade\u00adther with Indi\u00adan experts to con\u00adsis\u00adt\u00adent\u00adly ali\u00adgn trai\u00adning con\u00adtent with the requi\u00adre\u00adments of the labor mar\u00adket. <\/p>\n\n<p>This gra\u00addu\u00adal\u00adly crea\u00adtes a resi\u00adli\u00adent struc\u00adtu\u00adre in which trai\u00adning qua\u00adli\u00adty is not depen\u00addent on indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal cases, but is relia\u00adbly gua\u00adran\u00adteed.<\/p>\n\n<p>Howe\u00adver, the <em>skills gap<\/em> can only be sus\u00adtain\u00adab\u00adly redu\u00adced if the indus\u00adtry is struc\u00adtu\u00adral\u00adly invol\u00adved in trai\u00adning and assu\u00admes respon\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty.<\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"international-experience-with-system-scaling\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">International experience with system scaling<\/h2>\n\n<p>A look at estab\u00adlished dual sys\u00adtems shows that sca\u00adling is not achie\u00adved through speed, but through relia\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty in imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon. Pro\u00adgrams are not sim\u00adply expan\u00added, but deve\u00adlo\u00adped fur\u00adther in line with clear requi\u00adre\u00adments. <\/p>\n\n<p>India is pur\u00adsuing a dyna\u00admic expan\u00adsi\u00adon, which crea\u00adtes addi\u00adtio\u00adnal pres\u00adsu\u00adre on the qua\u00adli\u00adty of imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon. This makes it all the more important to avo\u00adid mista\u00adkes, cle\u00adar\u00adly defi\u00adne requi\u00adre\u00adments, make tasks com\u00adpa\u00adra\u00adble and make results com\u00adpre\u00adhen\u00adsi\u00adble. <\/p>\n\n<p>On this basis, per\u00adfor\u00admance can be pro\u00advi\u00added regard\u00adless of loca\u00adti\u00adon and per\u00adson. This com\u00adpa\u00adra\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty crea\u00adtes trust among lear\u00adners and com\u00adpa\u00adnies. <\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"scaling-as-an-economic-factor\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scaling as an economic factor<\/h2>\n\n<p>When trai\u00adning per\u00adfor\u00admance is relia\u00adbly pro\u00addu\u00adced under com\u00adpa\u00adra\u00adble con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons, its signi\u00adfi\u00adcan\u00adce for the labor mar\u00adket chan\u00adges. Com\u00adpa\u00adnies can rely on gra\u00addua\u00adtes having the skills that are nee\u00added in the com\u00adpa\u00adny. <\/p>\n\n<p>This shor\u00adtens trai\u00adning times and pro\u00adduc\u00adti\u00advi\u00adty is achie\u00adved more quick\u00adly. This approach is par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly effec\u00adti\u00adve whe\u00adre com\u00adpa\u00adnies are actively invol\u00adved in trai\u00adning. <\/p>\n\n<p>Indus\u00adtry Men\u00adtor Trai\u00adning (IMT) struc\u00adtures this con\u00adnec\u00adtion. Com\u00adpa\u00adnies take on a clear role in the trai\u00adning pro\u00adcess and thus ensu\u00adre the prac\u00adti\u00adcal rele\u00advan\u00adce of skills deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment. <\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"conclusion\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n<p>Sca\u00adling is a ques\u00adti\u00adon of relia\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty.
